Notes: Written for tw100 challenge #214 Reverse fandom: The Sarah Jane Adventures (episode title prompt: "The Mad Woman in the Attic")
Glynn didn't whistle while sweeping the nave; he listened. Some said the cathedral had recently become haunted. Well-founded were the rumors of rustlings in the tower, a shadow passing in front of the windows, now and again a woman's chilling scream. But only Glynn knew about the animal bones scattered in the cloister garth each morning. Surely this was something more strange and wonderful than mere ghosts.
Tonight, he was lucky. Locking up, he glanced skyward and his breath caught: enormous batlike wings soaring, a monstrous beaky head, talons... his suspicions were confirmed.
St. Davids had its own living gargoyle.
