Tosh's calculations indicated the creature would rematerialize by 4:02. It might return Jack, it might bring— "Citywide destruction, basically," she warned. They could only watch, tense, weapons ready.

"3:59," Tosh reported. "Waiting makes me feel sick."

"Three minutes," Suzie encouraged her. "Just enough time to, what, cook an egg?"

"Read Ianto's autobiography," Owen offered.

Tosh grinned. "Finish the Guardian crossword puzzle."

"Show-off," accused Suzie.

Owen wasn't finished. "You girls could come over here and—"

"No." they interrupted in unison.

"Oi! I was going to say —let me give you each a nice relaxing backrub."

Eyes were still rolling when the flash came.
