tw100 challenge #143 Open and #123 Archives, and for "E" in my alphabet prompt table.
Occasionally, Ianto took his tea down into the archives and sat in vault 627, soaking in the ambience of arcane objects.
The very oldest books were stored here. In the early days, before secure storage, some of Torchwood's records had been written in code. It was easy to decipher if you knew enough about the organization, but to Ianto's knowledge, he was the only person in his lifetime who had even tried.
So he relaxed, breathed the scents of dust, leather and aging paper, and enjoyed the knowledge that only he and Jack, of all the world, could read these books.
